About Us

Cook and Can is a small, family-owned business based in Indianapolis, Indiana that was founded in 2024 with a focus on quality and unique products made in the United States, Europe, and other "friendly" countries that are made by companies and people we know, trust, and love.

The Back Story

Our story really begins with frustration dating back over 20 years ago when our younger selves went on what we thought would be a simple mission one day to find cookware. We were pretty open minded on brand names and styles - our only real "requirement" was to avoid any cookware made in one specific country (which we'll leave intentionally unnamed). Our concerns with products from that country were around human rights, quality, and chemicals.

After visiting multiple big box stores and flipping over dozens of pots, pans, and skillets looking for the "Country of Origin" label, we came home empty handed with the realization that every brand and price range we looked at were all made in the one place on earth we were trying to avoid. That experience led us to really appreciate any time we find cookware - and really anything - made in America, Europe, and other "trusted" places. That appreciation is actually one of the core reasons we founded Cook and Can...

Most retailers seem to turn a blind eye on where their products are made - we take pride in it!

We seek and find high-quality kitchenware made in America, Europe, and other trusted places that are made by companies and people we have met and believe in so that you can feel confident in - and enjoy - anything and everything you buy from us!

Our commitment doesn't end at just filtering out things by "Country of Origin" - we also pride ourselves on carrying unique and innovative kitchen products combined with products and brands that have stood the test of time. Our checklist before we consider offering a product includes value, quality, sustainability, functionality, efficiency, trust, and durability - if you're ordering something from Cook and Can, it has met those criteria.

Vision

We believe in the concept of "food as medicine". We also believe that you should enjoy your time in the kitchen - and on this earth - as much as possible. There is nothing better than loving the food you are making and the cookware you are making it with!

What started as a simple idea to sell everything someone needs to "cook and can" is growing into so much more for us! The concept of eating healthy, knowing what's in your food, saving money, living sustainably, and making the best use of what's available to you - whether that be ingredients, cookware, or an environment to make things in - are now core to who we've become.

We can't offer you the ingredients or the environment, but we can offer you the cookware!

We believe that having the "right tools for the job" applies to your kitchen and cookware just as much as it does to doing a home renovation or repairing something. The right tools not only help get the job done, they do it well by saving you time. For instance, did you know pressure cookers can reduce cooking time by up to 70 percent?
